Law Enforcement Guidelines
Last updated: October 12, 2026
1. Purpose
Saints & Singles is a faith-centered dating community for single adults. We take member privacy seriously and we also take safety seriously. These guidelines explain how Saints & Singles ("we," "us") handles requests for member information from law enforcement and government agencies. They are intended for government officials, and they do not create any right or obligation beyond what the law provides.
2. How to Submit a Request
Send requests by email to navophoto@protonmail.com. Please use an official government email address and include your agency, name, title, badge or ID number where applicable, a direct phone number, and a return email address.
We cannot process requests sent through in-app reports, social media, Discord, or general support channels. Emails to other addresses may not be reviewed in a timely manner.
3. What We Require
We disclose member information only in response to valid legal process or where the law permits voluntary disclosure, as follows:
- Basic subscriber information (such as account email, registration date, and account status): a subpoena or equivalent legal process issued by a court or authorized government body.
- Non-content records (such as login and IP logs, call logs, and billing-related records): a court order or equivalent legal process.
- Content (such as messages, photos, and voice notes): a valid search warrant issued by a court of competent jurisdiction on a showing of probable cause, or another process that satisfies applicable law.
Each request must identify the specific account (for example, the account email address or profile identifier), the information sought, the legal basis for the request, and the relevant date range. We may reject or ask to narrow requests that are overbroad, unclear, or not supported by valid legal process.
4. Information We Have
What we hold depends on how the member has used the Service and on our retention periods. Categories may include:
- Account and profile information, including email address, profile text, and photos
- Verification submissions, used solely for photo verification and moderation
- Messages and voice notes, which are not end-to-end encrypted and are retained for a limited period
- Call metadata (who called whom, when, and for how long). Voice and video call media are peer-to-peer and are not recorded or routed through our servers.
- Login, device, and IP information, and billing-related records
- Moderation, report and enforcement records
Payment card numbers are handled by our payment processor, not by us.
5. Data Retention
We keep data only as long as it serves our members or safety. Our current retention periods are:
- Messages: up to 90 days, then automatically purged
- Voice notes: up to 30 days, then automatically purged
- Call logs: up to 90 days
- Uploaded media files: up to 90 days
- Moderation and audit records: retained for enforcement integrity
Because of these periods, content that has been purged cannot be recovered or produced. If you need information to be retained, please submit a preservation request promptly (see Section 6).
6. Preservation Requests
On receipt of a valid request from a government agency, we will take reasonable steps to preserve existing account records for 90 days while you obtain legal process. We may extend the preservation for an additional 90 days on a renewed request. A preservation request must identify the account and be submitted through the channel in Section 2. Preservation does not mean we will disclose the records; disclosure still requires valid legal process.
7. Emergency Disclosure Requests
If you believe that a person is in imminent danger of death or serious physical injury, email navophoto@protonmail.com with the subject line "EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE REQUEST." Please include:
- Your agency, name, title, and a direct phone number and official email address
- A description of the emergency and why it is imminent
- The account identifier(s) involved
- The specific information needed to address the emergency
We review emergency requests as quickly as we can. Where we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is needed to prevent imminent death or serious physical harm, and as permitted by law, we may disclose limited information without legal process. We may ask for a follow-up request with formal legal process afterward.
8. Child Safety
We have zero tolerance for content or conduct that sexualizes or endangers minors. We report apparent child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law, and we preserve related records as required by law. We may also report other apparent threats to the safety of children or imminent threats of serious harm to appropriate authorities.
9. Notice to Members
Unless we are legally prohibited from doing so, or in cases involving emergencies, child safety, or risk of harm, we will notify the affected member before disclosing their information so they have an opportunity to object. If your request is subject to a non-disclosure order, please provide a copy of the order or cite the specific legal authority with your request.
10. Requests From Outside the United States
Saints & Singles is operated from the United States. Requests from authorities outside the United States should be submitted through a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) process or another applicable international legal process. We may respond to such requests only where permitted by U.S. law. Emergency requests from any jurisdiction may be submitted under Section 7.
11. Civil Requests
We do not accept requests for member information in civil matters through this channel. Civil subpoenas and similar process will be reviewed under applicable law and may be challenged. Please send service of civil process to the contact in Section 2.
12. Cost Reimbursement
Where permitted by law, we may seek reimbursement for the reasonable costs of responding to requests that require substantial effort.
13. Authenticity and Records
We may provide a business-records certification on request so that records can be authenticated for use in court.
14. Our Right to Review and Challenge
We review every request for legal validity and scope. We may object to, narrow, or decline requests that are invalid, overbroad, or inconsistent with applicable law or our members' rights.
15. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines from time to time and will update the "Last updated" date above.
