Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Saints & Singles ("Saints & Singles," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of our website, mobile application, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Safety Guidelines, each incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create an account or use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

You may use the Service only if you meet all of the following requirements:

• You are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater). The Service is strictly adults-only.
• You have never been convicted of, and are not currently charged with, a felony, a violent crime, a sexual offense, or any crime involving harm to another person; and you are not registered — and are not required to register — as a sex offender with any government authority.
• You are legally capable of forming a binding contract and are not prohibited from using the Service under the laws of your country of residence or any other applicable jurisdiction.
• You have not previously been removed or banned from the Service, unless we have expressly reinstated you in writing.
• All information you submit is truthful, accurate, current, and complete.

We may require verification of your eligibility at any time and may suspend or terminate accounts that fail or refuse verification. We may refuse service to anyone, at any time, where permitted by law.

Saints & Singles is a faith-centered dating platform for single adults seeking serious, marriage-minded relationships. The Service includes, without limitation: account registration; member profiles (faith practices, denomination, values, photos, and preferences); discovery and compatibility-based matching; messaging between matched members (text, photo, and voice); voice and video calls between matched members where enabled; photo and identity verification; faith-community events; and optional paid subscriptions and premium features such as incognito mode, profile boosts, and travel mode.

The Service is a venue for introductions only. We do not conduct background checks, verify every claim made in a profile, or guarantee that any member is who they claim to be, is compatible with you, or will behave appropriately. We do not guarantee matches, relationships, or marriage outcomes.

• Accounts are secured by your email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you.
• One person, one account. You may not create accounts on behalf of others, share your account, or operate multiple accounts.
• You must keep your registration information accurate and up to date.
• Notify us immediately at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use where you failed to safeguard your credentials.
• Your account is personal to you and may not be sold, transferred, or assigned.

Saints & Singles is built for Christians seeking sacramental marriage. While we welcome members across Christian traditions, you agree to engage respectfully and in good faith, consistent with our community values: honesty, chastity-appropriate conduct, dignity, and respect for each member's boundaries and beliefs. Content or conduct inconsistent with these standards may be removed or result in account action, regardless of whether it independently violates Section 9.

• Paid features are offered as auto-renewing subscriptions (e.g., Saint, Patron, Blessed tiers) or one-time purchases (e.g., boosts), billed through our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Auto-renewal: your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly, quarterly, or annual, as selected) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: you may cancel at any time in Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you retain premium access until then.
• Free trials: where offered, trials convert to the selected paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
• Price changes: we will provide reasonable advance notice of subscription price changes; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, cancel before the change takes effect.
• Refunds: except where required by applicable law (including EU/UK consumer withdrawal rights and mandatory state or national refund rules), purchases are final and non-refundable, and partial billing periods are not prorated or credited.
• Taxes: prices may be exclusive of taxes; you are responsible for applicable sales, VAT, or similar taxes.
• Chargebacks: initiating a chargeback for a legitimate charge may result in account suspension pending resolution.
• Billing disputes must be raised within 60 days of the charge.

Mobile billing, where offered, may be processed via Stripe web checkout; purchases made through an app store, if any, are additionally subject to that store's payment and refund terms.

• Consumable features such as profile boosts and gifts are single-use, applied at the time of purchase, and are not refundable once used.
• Incognito mode limits profile visibility to members you have liked; it does not guarantee anonymity, and prior viewers, moderators, and legal-process recipients may still have access to your information.
• Travel mode sets a temporary discovery location; your actual location is never shown to other members.
• Premium features, pricing, and limits may change over time; features may be added, modified, or retired.

"User Content" means anything you submit, post, or transmit through the Service — including profile text, photos, voice notes, messages, verification selfies, event submissions, and feedback.

• Ownership: you retain all ownership of your User Content.
• License to us: you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, cache, copy, process, adapt (for formatting, display, and moderation), publicly display, reproduce, and transmit your User Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service — including displaying your profile and photos to other members and to moderators.
• Visibility: your profile is visible to other members according to your settings (including incognito and travel mode). Blocked members cannot see your ongoing activity, but content previously delivered (e.g., messages already sent) remains in the recipient's account per our retention rules.
• Messages: direct messages are private between participants, but may be reviewed by moderators where required for safety, abuse investigation, legal compliance, or enforcement of these Terms.
• Your representations: you represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to your User Content; that it is accurate; that every person depicted has consented; and that it complies with these Terms and applicable law.
• Removal: we may remove or restrict User Content that violates these Terms or law, at any time and without notice.
• Verification selfies are used solely for photo/identity verification and moderation, and are never displayed publicly.

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation.

You agree that you will not, and will not encourage or enable others to:

• Use the Service if under 18 or misrepresent your age
• Harass, threaten, stalk, bully, defame, intimidate, or harm any person, online or offline
• Create or share sexually explicit content, send unsolicited sexual or nude images, or sexually harass members
• Engage in or promote prostitution, sex trafficking, or commercial sexual services
• Solicit money, gifts, loans, investments, or financial information from members; engage in romance scams, catfishing, or fraud of any kind
• Impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent your identity, marital status, age, location, or faith affiliation, or create fake or deceptive profiles
• Post or share content that is hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, illegal, or that glorifies violence or self-harm
• Post or facilitate content involving minors in any way; report any suspected child-safety content immediately (see Section 11)
• Use the Service for commercial purposes — advertising, recruiting, research, journalism, or solicitation — without our written consent
• Scrape, crawl, spider, data-mine, or harvest member data; use bots, scripts, or other automation; or build a competing service using our data
• Probe, scan, or test the Service's security; interfere with its operation; upload malware; or bypass moderation, verification, blocks, bans, rate limits, or technical restrictions
• Collect, republish, or use another member's content or private messages outside the Service without their consent
• Dox, reveal, or attempt to identify another member's private information
• Create a new account after being banned or removed
• Use the Service to stalk, locate, or surveil any person
• Violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party

Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent ban, and may be reported to law enforcement where appropriate.

• We use a combination of automated systems and human moderators to review profile text, photos, reports, and flagged content, and to enforce these Terms.
• Photo verification, where offered, compares a live selfie against profile photos using a verification provider; a verified badge means only that the photos matched — it is not a background check, endorsement, or guarantee of identity or conduct.
• We do not perform criminal background checks, sex-offender-registry checks, or other screening on members. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members.
• You may block or report any member through the Service. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
• Enforcement actions (warnings, suspensions, bans) may be taken at our discretion. If your account is banned, you may appeal through the in-Service appeal process; decisions after review are final.
• We may preserve, review, and disclose account and content information to enforce these Terms, protect safety, or comply with law.

We have zero tolerance for content or conduct that sexualizes or endangers minors. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and applicable authorities, and preserve related records as required by law.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, whether through the Service or in person. You understand and agree that:

• We make no representations about members' identity, intentions, conduct, faith practice, or criminal history.
• You interact with members, and meet them offline, entirely at your own risk.
• You agree to take reasonable precautions: meet in public places, tell a friend your plans, arrange your own transportation, never share financial information, and never send money to another member.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of any member, online or offline, including claims arising from assault, fraud, theft, or other misconduct.

The Service integrates third-party providers to operate — including Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), PostHog (product analytics, only with your consent), Sentry (error monitoring), and cloud hosting, database, and file-storage providers. Optional photo-verification uses a third-party face-comparison provider where enabled.

The Service may link to third-party sites or communities, including our Discord server. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, conduct, or services — including anything that happens on our Discord server.

The Service — including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and compilation of content — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. "Saints & Singles" and associated marks are our trademarks.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended personal, non-commercial purpose. No other rights are granted. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service except as permitted by law.

We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice containing: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) identification of the infringing material and its location; (c) your contact information; (d) a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized; (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act; and (f) your physical or electronic signature — to the contact address below with subject line "DMCA Notice." We may terminate repeat infringers.

By creating an account you consent to receive transactional communications — account, security, verification, moderation, and billing notices — by email, push notification, or in-Service message. Marketing or promotional communications are sent only where permitted and can be opted out of via Settings or the unsubscribe link. Transactional notices cannot be opted out of while you hold an account.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ACCURATE, OR ERROR-FREE; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; OR THAT ANY MEMBER IS WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE OR WILL BEHAVE APPROPRIATELY. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAINTS & SINGLES AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (B) THE CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY MEMBER OR THIRD PARTY, ONLINE OR OFFLINE; (C) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR CONTENT OR ACCOUNT; OR (D) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE SERVICE.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100. THESE LIMITS APPLY EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Saints & Singles and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable attorneys' fees — arising out of or related to: (a) your User Content; (b) your use of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any law or third-party right; or (e) your interactions with other members.

Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@saintsandsingles.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

• Binding arbitration: except for claims eligible for small-claims court and requests for injunctive relief for misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized access, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final, binding individual arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration body under its consumer rules, conducted by a single arbitrator.
• Class-action waiver: disputes may only be brought individually — not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, collective, or representative proceeding.
• Jury waiver: you and we waive the right to a jury trial for arbitrable disputes.
• Opt-out: you may opt out of arbitration by emailing us at the contact address below within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your account email and your election to opt out.
• EU/UK consumers: nothing in this section limits mandatory local consumer protections or your right to bring claims in your local courts where required by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. For disputes not subject to arbitration, the exclusive venue is the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction — except where mandatory consumer law grants you a different forum.

• You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Security. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription — cancel billing first.
• We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, risk to other members, legal requirements, or extended inactivity.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Your profile will no longer be visible, and data is handled per our Privacy Policy.

• Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Safety Guidelines are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
• Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
• No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
• Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
• No agency: no agency, partnership, or employment relationship is created by these Terms.
• Survival: provisions that by their nature should survive termination (content licenses to delivered content, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, disputes) survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide advance notice through the Service or by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Changes take effect on the stated date; continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, delete your account before the effective date.
