Safety & Moderation

Saints & Singles is a faith-centered dating community for adults seeking marriage-minded relationships. Safety here is not a bolt-on: profiles, photos, and reports pass through human moderation, and every member has direct controls over who can see and contact them. This page explains plainly how moderation works, what we can and cannot see, and what happens to your data.

• Every profile photo is reviewed before your profile becomes visible in Discover. Until at least one photo is approved, other members cannot see or match with you.
• Photos are typically reviewed within 24 hours. If your photos are still pending, moderation has not forgotten you — the queue is monitored and aged items are flagged to admins automatically.
• Automated screening flags likely explicit imagery for closer review; a person makes the final call.
• Profile text is screened for contact-info patterns (e.g., phone numbers) that move conversation off-platform — a common scam signal.
• Photo verification: members can submit a verification selfie, which is reviewed against profile photos. Verified status is shown on the profile.

• You can report a profile or a message with a reason category. To keep the queue honest, reports are limited to 5 per day.
• Reports past their review SLA are automatically escalated, assigned to a moderator, and logged in an audit trail.
• Enforcement ranges from warnings to suspension to a permanent ban, depending on severity and history.
• If your account is banned you can appeal in-app; appeals are reviewed by an admin, not the moderator who acted.
• Suspected child-safety content is reported to authorities as required by law.

• Unmatch: permanently removes the match and deletes the conversation for both of you. It cannot be undone.
• Block: removes the person from your deck, matches, and messages — and removes any existing match.
• Ignore: hides the person from your deck and matches without notifying them.
• Delete chat: clears the conversation from your view; the other person keeps their copy unless they delete it too.
• Incognito (paid tier): limits who can see your profile.
• Data: export your data (GDPR) or delete your account entirely from Settings.

Messages on Saints & Singles are not end-to-end encrypted. They are stored on our servers in a form our moderation tooling can read, which is what allows us to act on reports of harassment or abuse. Voice and video calls are peer-to-peer over WebRTC — call media is not routed through or recorded by our servers, though call metadata (who called whom, when, how long) is logged for safety and billing integrity.

We keep data only as long as it serves you or safety:

• Messages: retained up to 90 days, then automatically purged
• Voice notes: retained up to 30 days, then automatically purged
• Call logs: retained up to 90 days
• Uploaded media files: retained up to 90 days
• Moderation and audit records: retained for enforcement integrity

The Service is strictly for adults 18 and older. Accounts discovered to belong to minors are deleted and, where required, reported.
